Who We Are
Al-Mohammedieh Foundation is a Mogadishu-based, faith-guided humanitarian and community development organization serving vulnerable communities across Somalia. Established in 2013 and registered with the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Foundation combines Islamic education programming with humanitarian relief and livelihood support, delivered through direct engagement with mosques, Qur’anic schools, and community elders.
The Foundation’s work is grounded in Islamic principles of compassion (rahma), charitable giving (sadaqa), and collective social responsibility. This orientation shapes both what the Foundation does and how it works: programs are designed to be community-anchored, delivered with the involvement of local religious and community leadership, and focused on needs identified directly within the communities served.
